  Service was ok but very pubby considering the menu prices, which are high, but the positives end there. The menu is pretentious for a pub and the kitchen can't live up to their menu. This needs a Gordon Ramsay broom through the place. The steak was tough even though it was cooked perfectly, the pumpkin soup lacked any seasoning or flair, and the pork belly was a blackened soggy mess with no crackling. That brings me to the mash. It seems as though the cook did not like to be pedestrian and a nice creamy mash is too common for him. Instead they have a lump of partially mashed lumpy potato with some green leaf thing and dark patches mixed all through it. They call it a rubble and they couldn't be more spot on, they have captured the taste and texture of roadside rubble perfectly.
  
  Bottom line, my recommendation is to avoid the place if you are looking for a good meal, as we were disappointed.

  Lovely and fancy inside, beautiful and scenic outside too. Great food and best seasoning on chips. Reasonable prices too and good coffee. Feels strange when I go to montville and don't eat at this place.
